Struggling for a moment Noah tired out too quickly being sick, stopping short of his goal of not swallowing and instead taking the pill as it was given to him. In the end it was against his better judgement.

However the feelings of queezyness and the general feeling of powerlessness nearly instantly faded. With his strength returning Noah pushed Misery's hand away from his mouth. "Fine I took it. What about you? Will your sister really be able to fix you?"

Since they'd arrived at Misery's house Noah pushed open the door and stepped out feeling his body ache. Whatever he'd caught was fast acting, but so was the pill, he could feel his strength returning already. Reaching his hand in he held it out for Misery. "Come on lets get going." He was still intent on taking her all the way into her home, weather she liked that idea or not.

"Woah...." Reza said to himself as he felt the effects of the pill. He wasn't just cured, he felt better than he had in years. Something about him just felt strong, like he could take down a fight against other powered individuals with his bare hands. Man, what the hell was in that thing? He felt so good that he didn't even care about all the gross fluids that were now in his car.

"Hey, where did you get that pill. IT feels absolutely amazing" Reza said to himself, completely forgetting that he should be making sure that Misery was fine.

"Made it..." Misery coughed out before allowing herself to be pulled from the car by the newly cured Noah. Of course, no sooner had Misery been clumsily pulled onto her feet than there came the sound of one of the windows slamming open from the house as Malady's head emerged from the second story to look down at them from her perch.

"Get back in the car!" she called out in a panic, not sounding nearly as bitchy as she had earlier in the day. "Hurry!"

Noah was about to confront the woman but something seemed amiss, she wasn't demanding that they get into the car and leave. If anything it seemed like she wanted to come with them. This thoroughly confused the security guard.

Though unless Misery said she wanted to do something else he'd set the fairly light maiden back into the back of the Car. "What's she on about?" The woman had been cool as a cucumber back on the street, it was odd to see her acting so panicked.

Reza glanced up, seeing Malady standing there and shouting for Misery to get back in the car. This did sound like a demand, but not the rude or arrogant nature the woman had spoken before. Something seemed strange about this, but Reza couldn't quite figure out what.

"Yeah, what he said. What's her deal now?"

With it looking like they'd gotten the girl safely back home, Cody was preparing to leave when things got a bit funny. From his distance, he couldn't hear the conversation, but one moment they'd been helping Misery out from the car, then a second later they were piling back inside. What was going on?

It was at this point that their eyes would be drawn to the side of the house, where a black, inky shape rounded the corner of the house at an inquisitive stalking speed. The sound of the car door opening and Malady's shouting had got the attention of ...something that had been rounding the house. It was about the size of a middle large dog and seemed to be built roughly like one, but any other details were impossible to make out through the sheer darkness of the thing's construction.

Without a sound, the thing took off at an impossibly swift run, the sleek form aimed like an arrow straight at Noah who was still standing outside the open door of the car. Misery had yet to see the thing as she lay slumped inside the car now, still staring up at her sister in muddled confusion.

Noah's eyes went wide. He'd seen a lot of things, good things, and bad things. There were people with powers, but WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?

As the sheer sight of the black mass of the thing caught the young college students eyes it made all the hair on the back of his neck stand up. Since he was the only one out of the Car, it was after him as quickly as it saw him.

Taking the Initiative Noah dove back into the car on top of Misery, reaching back and pulling the door close behind him as quickly as possible, good thing the window was up.

Reza heard a strange sound and heard his head. Night was coming so he didn't see the creature at first, and then all at once he saw it. "Oh shit!" he shouted before motioning Noah back in to the car. As soon as the boy dived in and shut the door, Reza slammed his foot on the gas to fly forward, the car speeding away from this thing.

"How close behind us is it!?" Reza asked Noah, keeping his eyes forward to make sure he didn't crash the car or anything.

"What the-" Cody stopped mid turn to face back at the house, staring. It was hard to tell, but it looked like... a swirling cloud of blackness? His first thought was that it was another one of Misery's creations, but it didn't really seem to fit the mold. So what was this thing? It looked like the trio in the car was getting away though, that was good.

"W-wha...?" Misery questioned drunkenly, laying on the back seat now with a guy on top of her in a somewhat awkward position. "Why are we leaving...?"

Looking back as the car drove away at high speed, Noah would find that the unknown black mass of a beast had stopped in the road where they had just been, watching them drive away with bright white eyes set deep in its canine-like skull. Before they were even out of view, the creature gave up its non-existent chase and trotted calmly back toward the house.

Noah adjusted himself as quickly as he could, to keep out of Misery's personal space which he'd had to violate in the heat of the moment, moving back against the door and sitting Misery up. "Do you have a dog or dog-like thing?" The young security guard asked, he'd worked with dogs before, but really couldn't tell exactly what that thing was. It didn't look like any dog he'd worked with before.

Not waiting for an answer Noah turn to look out the back of the car to see the creature not following them. "It's not giving chase Mister Officer."

"That is NOT a dog" Reza explained before pulling over to the side of the road and parking. Whatever it was, he doubted that it was nice, especially with how Malady had ordered them to leave. Perhaps they were in trouble. That would be up to Reza to figure out. "You two stay here" he said as he pulled out and fixed his coat. "Keys are still in the ignition in case you need to run. So help me if you just steal this car I'll track you down myself" he added before turning back to the house.

"I'm gonna make sure your family is safe, watch after her" Reza added to Noah before turning and running back up the streets to see what was going on back at the house.

Ah, they had got away! That was good, but didn't answer the question of what that thing was at all. The shadow thing not chasing them made it more confusing rather than less. Deciding to get a closer look, Cody repels himself across the gap between buildings to the next roof.

Before he'd gone more than two buildings though, the cop had gotten out of the car and was running back towards the house, and, the thing. Oh hell that was stupid. At least stay in the car so you had some protection!

"...No?" Misery asked cluelessly at the question. "Was there a dog in the yard?"

With the car pulling over and coming to a stop and Reza removing himself from within the protection of the vehicle, the canine monstrosity immediately stopped its walk back to its position of guarding the house and raised its snout to the air.

Rather than simply racing at Reza now that he was unprotected, the black thing finished its walk back to the house, rounding the opposite corner from where Reza was coming to hunker down, ready to make a surprise attack the moment the man came near.

The man was a cop. Noah wasn't worried about him. "There's a huge black dog like thing outside your house. Is it yours?" The real question came. "Can you still use your powers?"

He started to get the feeling that this thing wasn't one of Misery's creations either. Noah pushed open the door and started getting out. "I'm going to go help that guy."

Reza worked on pulling his lighter out as he moved. Whatever that thing was wasn't natural, so no way he was going to open up by shooting a pistol at it. "Come on come on" he says to himself before finally getting the flame lit and creating a fireball in his hand. He gave a small laugh to himself, feeling ready for whatever this thing was.

Reza rounded the corner just in time to see this thing launch forward. "WOAH!" he shouts before expelling his arms forward and causing two streams of flame to emerge and crash in to the creature.

Picking up speed, Cody had gone a few more houses before he paused to get another look at the situation. The thing hadn't attacked the cop? Maybe he'd overreacted- no, it was getting ready to attack. "Shit!"

He was probably still too far away to yell a warning that would do any good, so instead he propelled himself up to a streetlight where he'd have a better aim, and pulled out a jumbled piece of scrap metal, aimed carefully at the shadow creature thing, and sent it rocketing through the air towards the thing. Even if he missed, it might distract the creature enough to give the cop more time to do something.

"...No?" Misery answered with a furrowed brow, as if the answer was obvious. "Uh... a-alright..." she spoke up weakly as Noah announced that he was going to help. "Make sure... my sisters are alright, okay?" she requested just before erupting into a hefty fit of coughing.

The streams of fire hit the dread beast straight in the face, but the attack certainly wasn't as effective as it had been when facing off against Misery's adorably villainous creation. Fortunately, getting a face full of flames was enough to at least throw off the creature's lunge for Reza's throat. It landed on all fours at Reza's feet rather than reaching his neck, backing off through the flames quickly while shaking its highly angular head. However, it was obvious that some fire wasn't going to keep it at bay forever, already attempting to circle Reza with a hellish growl as it remained out of his apparent range of flame projection.

That was when it yelped painfully and staggered sideways, getting broadsided by Cody's attempt at long-distance assistance. The hunk of scrap obviously inflicted some damage, but not enough to keep the monster off-balance for more than a few seconds before it would return to stalking Reza like a predator reasoning out how to take down some semi-dangerous prey.

Noah faulted in his attempt to help Reza his eyes catching the long range metal sniper attack. The two of them could handle the beast whatever it was. He decided at the last second not even passing the car door before spinning on his heels. Reaching in and pulling Misery out and up to him. "They have it busy, lets get you inside to your sisters."

"I'm sorry." The young man apologized, quickly pulling Misery up into his arms like a princess and took off at a light jog toward Misery's house, sticking close to the house fronts as possible, trying to stay out of sight of the fight. He was going for the back door at Misery's house. Going to take her inside and get her healed, if she couldn't use her powers now she would be able to when she was back to optimum condition. With her powers they'd be able to whip this thing. And Noah was going to deliver her to her sister to accomplish just that.

"I hate this shit!" Reza shouted as the dog was barely thrown off by the fire attack. What? How on earth was it so resistant, it was fire for god's sake! Reza couldn't help but begin to grow nervous, feeling the pressure as this creature continued to stalk him. Even when the chunk of metal hit the creature, Reza could only afford a glance to see that Cody had followed them here for some reason.

"If you have anything heavier I think now's the time!" Reza pointed out before pulling out his sidearm. Without waiting he aimed it at the creature and began to fire, hoping that some old-fashioned bullets would do the trick.

Ha, well they'd all seen him now, and that was awkward. But whatever, this thing barely seemed to notice getting scrap cannoned or the fire from the cops attack, it wasn't really the time to be worried about that! "Bit's and pieces!" He yelled back to Reza while he fished around in his backpack for more metal.

Technically he had a lot of heavier things available, such as cars, but putting aside that he had never tried to move something that heavy, Cody wasn't sure the situation was bad enough for him to risk sending cars flying through the air in a residential neighborhood. Pulling out what amounted to a rusted heap of probably something used in building houses, but was basically unidentifiable now, he fired it towards the creature.

"Hwha...?" Misery muttered drowsily as she suddenly found herself lifted and moved from her place in the car. She was getting worse by the second, barely able to keep her head up as he carried her toward the house.

Meanwhile, the canine creature growled angrily at the cop just before he pulled out his sidearm. The move may have very well saved his life with how near the beast had appeared to be to advancing toward him in another vicious pounce. Every shot from the gun caused the monster to recoil with repeated yelps, the lawn quickly becoming stained with a thick, black sludge. As the metal scrap struck it, the beast yelped again, opening its mouth in an angry roar immediately afterward even as it went on the retreat. The mouth of the thing was lined with row after row of shark-like teeth and it's tongue waggled about like a long tentacle, the end tipped with a razor sharp spike. It was leaking quite a large amount of what appeared to be its blood as it limped toward the rear of the house to regroup from this unexpected barrage of projectiles.

Noah nearly tripped himself as he heard gunfire and a yelp. It seemed that their problem was taken care of, so the knight in shining armor carrying a princess threw caution to the wind and picked up the pace for the sake of his charge. Who seemed to be getting close to knocking on death's door.

However what he hadn't expected was for the Creature to stumble back behind the house from the opposite direction as they approached. It appeared injured but no less dangerous, and even in its state just the sight of it caused the hair on the back of Noah's neck to stand on end.

There would be no way he could reach the back door in time before the monstrous thing was on top of them trying to make them into it's food, like it'd tried before in the drive way.

Noah pulled Misery firmly into his arms, and focused on the creature if it charged them it was in for a rude awakening. "It's going to be alright." Noah whispered calmly though he was unsure of what was about to happen, he wasn't going to let that thing hurt Misery or Himself if he had any say in the matter.

"Ha, justice the old fashioned way!" Reza shouted as the creature seemed to be retreating. So fire wasn't working on this thing, but bullets would do the trick. Fine by Reza, he hadn't become any worse with his gun since his powers. He ejected his magazine before loading another one in to the gun and walking forward. "All of you get in to the house or find some cover, this thing isn't down yet" the detective said.

HE'd move forward, gun forward and he made sure to check his corners as he followed the creature, not wanting it to get the jump on him once again.
